Traditional curriculum approval often moves in years. Artificial intelligence changes in months. When Congress wrote Perkins V, it recognized that career and technical education must keep pace with industry, so it built in the flexibility for districts to adopt new and emerging instructional technology rather than wait for a full textbook or course adoption cycle.
Under Perkins V Section 135, districts may use local CTE funds to purchase new and emerging instructional technology aligned with industry needs.
